The Melbourne Cup Carnival showcased their ability, featuring victories in prestigious events like the Group 1 Crown Oaks and the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate for two-year-olds. From debut winners to established stars, the Victorian breeding industry continues to grow its influence across Australasia.


Another Wil (Street Boss x Arohanui)

Victorian-bred and -sired Another Wil (Street Boss x Arohanui) claimed the Group 2 Damien Oliver Stakes at Flemington under Jamie Kah for Ciaron Maher Racing. The three-year-old colt was bred by Mrs. J Thomson. Another Wil has now accumulated a total of $1,092,100 in career earnings by winning 8 from 13 starts. Darley's sire Street Boss stands at Northwood Park for $66,000 (inc. GST).


Treasurethe Moment (Alabama Express x Draconic Treasure)

Victorian-bred and -sired three-year-old filly Treasurethe Moment (Alabama Express x Draconic Treasure) delivered back-to-back victories at Flemington for Matt Laurie Racing, claiming both the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes and the prestigious Group 1 Oaks. Bred and raced by Yulong, she became the first Group 1 winner for Yulong’s Alabama Express, securing a total of $14,000 in VOBIS Silver bonuses across her spring carnival success. Alabama Express stands at Yulong Stud for $55,000 (inc. GST).

Victorian-bred and -sired two-year-old colt Tycoon Star (Written Tycoon x Miss Iano) made a stunning debut, winning the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington for Lindsay Park Racing. By Yulong’s champion sire Written Tycoon, he earned $10,000 in VOBIS Silver bonuses in an exciting start to his career. The multiple Victorian Champion sire Written Tycoon stands at Yulong for a private fee.


Catoggio (Written Tycoon x Palazzo Pubblico)

Victorian-bred and -sired three-year-old colt Catoggio (Written Tycoon x Palazzo Pubblico) secured the Listed Amanda Elliott Stakes at Flemington under Jye McNeil for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott. Catoggio was purchased at the 2023 Magic Millions Yearling sale for $460,000.


Within The Law (Lucky Vega x Contract Style)

Victorian-bred and -sired Within The Law (Lucky Vega x Contract Style) impressed on debut, claiming the Listed Inglis Banner at Flemington for Bjorn Baker Racing. By Yulong’s first-season sire Lucky Vega, she earned the $10,000 VOBIS Silver Nominators Bonus. This is the two-year-old filly's first start proving a promising start to her career with already amassing a total of $302,000 is prize money. Within The Law was sold at the 2021 Inglis Yearling sale for $400,000. Lucky Vega stands at Yulong for $16,500 (inc. GST).


Pericles (Street Boss x Accessories)

Victorian-bred and -sired performer Pericles (Street Boss x Accessories) dug deep to take out the Listed Five Diamonds at Rosehill under Kerrin McEvoy for Godolphin. The five-year-old filly has accumulated a total of $5,333,115 in career earnings.


Captured By Love (Written Tycoon x Moldova)

Victorian-bred and -sired three-year-old filly Captured By Love (Written Tycoon x Moldova) led a Victorian-sired quinella in the Group 1 1000 Guineas at Riccarton for Te Akau Racing. She was bred by Makybe Racing & Breeding. Following in second was Alabama Lass, by Alabama Express, bred by Rifa Mustang. Captured By Love has earned a total of NZ$703,435 winning five from ten starts.


Another Prophet (Brazen Beau x Set To Skelter)

Victorian-bred and -sired, Another Prophet (Brazen Beau x Set To Skelter) secured the Group 1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield for Ciaron Maher Racing. By Darley’s Brazen Beau, she claimed $10,000 in VOBIS Silver bonuses. The three-year-old filly has now amassed a total of $1,048,335 in career earnings.


Storyville (Overshare x New Orleans)

Victorian-bred and -sired three-year-old filly Storyville (Overshare x New Orleans) showcased her class with back-to-back Group victories at Ascot for Williams Racing. She claimed the Group 3 Champion Fillies Stakes with a thrilling late burst of speed before backing up her success by securing the Group 2 W.A. Guineas under William Pike. Storyville has won four of her seven starts, amassing $501,750 in prize money. Overshare stands at Widden Stud for $5,500 (inc. GST).


Acquarello (Written Tycoon x River Pebbles)

Victorian-bred and -sired Acquarello (Written Tycoon x River Pebbles) claimed an impressive victory in the Group 3 Breeders' Plate at Riccarton Park for Pike Racing. Bred by Rifa Mustang, the three-year-old filly has achieved a total of $172,374 throughout her racing career.

Victorian-bred and -sired two-year-old filly Miss Celine (Magnus x Charm’s Honour) delivered a blazing performance on debut to win the Listed Debutant Stakes at Caulfield for Lindsay Park Racing. Bred and raced by Rob Crabtree of Dorrington Farm, the daughter of Widden Stud’s late sire Magnus she secured $10,000 in VOBIS Silver bonuses, marking a promising start to her career.
